The Landscape Installation Overview
This residence was slated for a complete landscape overhaul. Here’s a breakdown of what the project entailed:
Site Work and Prep:
The project started with site preparation, finish grading, and erosion control. This involved using good soil from the site to build up grades and top-dressing with fresh, delivered shredded topsoil. Due to limited access, manual labor and specialized equipment, like the dingo, were essential to prepare the site properly.
Topsoil:
To achieve the desired grade and quality, 75 yards of shredded topsoil were delivered. This topsoil was essential for landscape beds, raised beds, and top-dressing the entire yard.
Sod Installation: The front and side yards were slated for sod installation, totaling 420 yards. The rear yard could be seeded and strawed if preferred.
Grass Seed and Straw:
Tall Fescue Grass Seed with XCD Coating was included for the rear yard.
Downspout Connections:
To manage water runoff, a comprehensive downspout system was planned. Upscale Lawn Care would run separate 4″ drain lines on each side of the house, diverting roof water to the rear tree line. This involved trenching, burying pipes, and installing connectors.
Front and Side Yard Landscape:
The landscape install encompassed all trees and plant materials as specified in the landscape plan. This included starter fertilizer, labor, and mulch application.
Backyard Landscaping:
This part of the project included the installation of a privacy screen bed, shade trees, and a planter bed around the patio. As with the front yard, it featured starter fertilizer, labor, and mulch application.
Retaining Walls and Hardscaping:
Two natural limestone dry stack walls were planned for creating a terrace effect. Additionally, 2″ thick Natural Grey Limestone step stones and a raised planter bed using Lineo dimensional block were part of the hardscaping.
Irrigation System:
The project included an irrigation system with up to 14 zones covering the turf and front landscape beds. The system would be hooked up by a licensed plumber and feature Hunter commercial-quality fixtures.
Putting Green:
A putting green, 150 square feet in size, was designed with a 12″-15″ fringe border, holes, and flags. It was built on a base of gravel and chipped stone, ensuring a high-quality playing surface.
