Project Overview

This large-scale hardscape renovation involved two major components: the full restoration of a 1,300-square-foot paver patio and the complete demolition and replacement of an aging retaining wall. The goal was not only to repair and stabilize the space but to elevate the design and bring a polished, upscale look to the backyard.

The existing paver area had seen better days. Uneven stones, worn edges, and settling issues had made the once-inviting space less enjoyable for the homeowner. Upscale Lawncare was hired to fully restore the area—bringing both form and function back to this essential part of the backyard.

Here’s what the process included:

• Full removal of nearly every paver to access and assess the underlying base.
• Disposal of all undesirable base material offsite, ensuring a clean slate.
• Installation of new, compacted base and bedding materials to ICPI standards.
• Resetting each paver for a uniform, level surface.
• Replacement of edging in areas not reinforced by the retaining wall using durable concrete edging.
• Pressure washing of the entire paver surface.
• Final application of new polymeric sand in all joints to lock pavers in place and reduce weed growth.

This meticulous approach not only restored the integrity of the patio, but also gave it a fresh, clean look—perfect for entertaining around the pool.
